This animated short is a loose interpretation of my mothers experience of grief during my Grandmother's funeral and a continuation of my previous project: The Goddess of Grief. When the story begins, the protagonist comforts her distraught father during the wake, but feels to numb and exhausted to mourn fully. In a moment of quiet, she is visited by the Goddess of grief. The entity brings the protagonist into another dimension and compels her to experience the full range of emotions within the stages of grief. The protagonist goes through a journey by reflecting on her memories of her late mother. Though this story is very much about my mothers relationship to her mother, it is also about my relationship with my mother and all the complexities of generational trauma and love.
